Hand and Spear, Weybridge

Description: This spralling venue, close to weybridge station, at first looks rundown and uncared for, but the mix of old furnature (leather sofas and long pews make you feel relaxed and welcome. Its an old buildings probably a former coachhouse and livery in days gone by. An old brass chandelier hangs in the hallway. The stained pine floorboards are hardwaring for the heavy traffic of students and teenagers. The tables made from barrels are kwirky. The long wooden bar is one main feature. The Beers on offer are Fosters, Slella Artois, Guiness, Kronenbourg 1664, Amstel, and Carlsberg. Also tetley bitter and the usual selection of wines, spirits, bottled beers, and alcopops. The walls are covered with painted over wallpaper. Entertainment includes fruit machines and pool tables with a large projector and screen for sports. The air-conditioning is a bonus. A wide selection of music, Monday (Classic & Soft Rock with DJ Jason), Tuesday ( 3 bands per night) Please note that there is £3 entry fee on this night, Wednesday (is Karaoke), Thursday (Fast and Furious with DJ's Stuart & Ping), Friday (Live Tribute & Cover Acts), Saturday - starting soon (A brand new selection of nights, keep checking back for news and details). Holly Tree, Addlestone

Description: Although this venue has a small car park, with limited on-street parking available, it is obviously within walking distance for many of its patrons. On entering you see what appears to be an old tree trunk with a pub table wrapped round it, this is certainly unusual, in this country anyhow. The Alpine theme is continued with the shape of the roof, which has been modelled on a Toblerone bar, thick oak beams, and a collection of Beer steins. The floor is a mixture of bare boards, terracota tiles and old faded carpet. The walls have been decorated with movie prints, framed cigarette card collections, and old photographs of local landmarks. It has a long U-shaped bar in the centre, and a fireplace at one end. There are plenty of wooden tables and chairs and a few bar stools. Beers on offer include Stella Artois, Carling, Kronenbourg 1664, John Smith's, Guinness, and some real ales. They also have wine on tap, and the usual range of spirits. Other entertainment is provided by a couple of large LCD screens, one of which is suspended over the stage, and a pool table, and some quiz and fruit machines. There is another large room over to the right hand side, I would call it a restaurant, but it has plastic-covered tablecloths, however it would be a pleasant enough place to sit and eat your barfood. There is also a new games room upstairs.

Inn at Maybury, Woking

Description: Formerly The Maybury Inn, this venue has a large car park to the rear and a small smoker's / beer garden round the front next to the busy main road. This venue is now a restaurant and bar run by Landmark liesure who also have 40 other venues including the Seahorse at Shalford. They occasionally have live music.

Inn on the Green, Ockley

Description: This traditional English pub, though situated next to a main road (A29), has a cosy and welcoming atmosphere, with plenty of seating and home-cooked food. The L-shaped central bar area has a low ceiling with oak beams while the restaurant (with a michelin- trained chef) and front side of the building, with a lounge area, have large windows letting in the natural light on sunny days. The bar is well stocked, with Fosters, Carlsburg, Guinness and several real ales, wines and the usual selection of bottled beers and spirits. It is run by Paul and Gwyneth, helped by several eager young staff members waiting to serve. At the rear is a conservatory and large beer garden. The live music is on Friday nights from 9pm. Other entertainment on offer is provided by fruit machines, dartboard, and a pool table. The only slight drawback, though no fault of the management and probably more environmentally friendly, might be the dark walk of 20 yards along the road to the large car park at the end of the evening. Bed & breakfast accommodation is also available. This venue now has free wireless internet access for patrons.

Description: This venue is split into the small public bar with fruit machines and a pool table and the lounge bar. The walls are covered with old copper cooking pans and newspaper cuttings, charity certificates, photos of famous visiters and past acts who have played here. Among the beers on offer are London Pride, Carling, John Smiths, Fosters, and Kronenbourg 1664. The usual selection of wines and spirits. It also has a small raised stage area. Live music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The large TV projector and screen for sports. Live music with a jam on Thursdays, and bands on Friday and Saturday nights.
