Old Ticket Hall, Windsor

Description: As the name suggests this venue was previously the grand ticket hall for the Windsor and Eton Riverside railway station. Many of the period features have been retained, the arched double doors, high beamed ceiling and the angled kiosk in the middle. however the typical sullen faces of BR staff behind the counter in days gone by, have been replaced with cheery, helpful ones. The walls have been painted white, with four extra large monochrome icons depicting DYLAN, Bob : MARLEY, Bob : MORISSON, Jim (of The Doors) : and I guess, Madonna, with a fag in her mouth, (though she's surely out of place in the company of such greats). The panelling up to the dado rail has been painted an odd shade of Green, but it seems to work. They have adjustable mood lighting and a mirrorball. There are continental stype high tables and upholstered stools, great for a chilled Sunday night (for Birds of a Feather), but I'm not sure if these are still out when bands play on Friday and Saturday nights (£3 entry, but Free before 10pm with a flyer from the venue). There is also an Open Mic Night on Thursdays from 9pm.
